Realty San Antonio Donates Books to the Children's Shelter
On Monday, January 17, Realty San Antonio donated over $600 worth of books to the Children's Shelter in support of their work to provide children in families in our community with hope and stability.
“It’s such an honor to start this new year off by giving back to the community this way on this particular day,” says Yvette Flores, Realty Austin co-founder. “Dr. King was an iconic leader who often spoke to the need to address economic as well as racial and social inequalities and I think helping to provide kids in our community with the tools they need in order to become informed and empowered citizens is a very appropriate way to honor his legacy.”
The Children’s Shelter offers a wide range of services to children and families who are impacted by cyclical trauma in Bexar County. Their mission is to provide kids with a safe space to heal and grow — through a nurturing environment and trauma-informed care. Their services include everything from emergency shelters to mental health programming.
