Ford Mariachi Festival

This free, family-friendly Fiesta event features live mariachi bands and Folklorico dancers on decorated river barges each evening from 6:00 to 9:30 PM. Enjoy the floating concert from a riverside patio or hotel balcony and experience this awesome cultural tradition.

 

Helotes Cornyval and PRCA Rodeo- 60th Anniversary

The 60th Anniversary Helotes Cornyval & PRCA Rodeo is a Texas-sized celebration of rodeo, live music, and good ol' carnival fun! Battle of the Flowers Parade

This year's theme, Melodies in Bloom: A Texas Serenade, celebrates the state's rich musical heritage. The parade features over 12,000 participants, including approximately 7,000 high school students, 4,500 band members, and more than 200 horses. Organized entirely by the all-women, volunteer Battle of Flowers® Association, the event honors the heroes of the Alamo, Goliad, and the Battle of San Jacinto.

 

Cinco de Mayo Pachanga

Fiesta Flambeau® Parade

Celebrating its 77th year, the parade features a 3.1-mile route filled with dazzling floats, marching bands, and vibrant performances. This year's theme, Deep in the Arts of Texas, highlights the state's rich cultural heritage. The University of Texas Longhorn Band will lead the procession, continuing a cherished tradition. With over 800,000 spectators and a global livestream audience, the event promises an unforgettable experience.

 

King William Fair

Experience the charm of San Antonio's oldest residential neighborhood at the King William Fair on Saturday, May 3.  As a highlight of Fiesta San Antonio, this vibrant event kicks off with a quirky, mile-and-a-half parade featuring political parodies, marching bands, belly dancers, and even parading pooches. The fair boasts over 200 art and craft vendors offering handcrafted items like stained glass, ceramics, and home accessories. Five stages will host live music and dance performances, while food and beverage booths throughout the neighborhood serve up local favorites such as sizzling fajitas, funnel cakes, and kettle corn.

 

The Wiz

This groundbreaking reimagining of The Wizard of Oz infuses the classic tale with soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk, offering a fresh perspective on Dorothy's journey to find her place in a contemporary world. Directed by Schele Williams (The Notebook, revival of Disney’s Aida), with choreography by JaQuel Knight (Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”) and additional material by Amber Ruffin (The Amber Ruffin Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers), this dynamic production brings a whole new groove to easing on down the road.

 

Asteroid City (2023) | H-E-B Cinema on Will’s Plaza

Explore the whimsical world of Wes Anderson at a free outdoor screening of Asteroid City at the Tobin Center’s Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza. Part of the H-E-B Cinema on Will’s Plaza series, the event begins with the plaza opening at 6:00 PM, followed by the movie at 7:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the film on a stunning 32-foot LED video wall. Concessions and a bar will be available on-site, and in case of inclement weather, the screening will move indoors. Asteroid City is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 105 minutes.

 

Movie in the Park: Wicked
